Electronic Commerce
In July 2002, The Ministry of Economic Trade and Industry, METI, announced, The Guidelines on Electronic Commerce, in order to provide a standard for internet commerce. As internet commerce increase we can foresee problems from licensing contracts for information products/services. Although these guidelines have no legal validity, Japanese businesses are using the guidelines as reference and most likely the courts will also refer to these guidelines.
